Tirucallane‐Type Triterpenoids from Celastrus stylosus Wall.

Two new tirucallane‐type triterpenoids, (24Z)‐tirucalla‐7,24‐diene‐3β,11β,26‐triol ( 1 ) and (3S,24R)‐tirucall‐7‐ene‐3,24,25‐triol ( 2 ), along with the known compound celastrol ( 3 ), were isolated from the root barks of Celastrus stylosus Wall . The structures of 1 – 3 were established by spectroscopic methods, including extensive 2D NMR and MS analyses. It is the first report on tirucallane‐type triterpenoids from the genus Celastrus and may be of vital chemotaxonomic significance.     

Characterization of the materials used in Chinese ink sticks by pyrolysis-gas chromatography–mass spectrometry

Chinese ink stick has a long history and a special importance in Chinese culture. Its main components are soot (normally pine wood soot and lamp soot) and animal glue; however, additives were added from time to time for different purposes. In order to see whether the two types of soot can be differentiated and the other constituents in Chinese ink sticks can be identified or not by Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (Py-GC-MS) and GC-MS techniques, an initial study has been carried out. The main polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in soot could be identified, which are anthracene, fluoranthene, triphenylene and benz[e]acephenanthrylene. The main difference between those two types of soot is that the detectable amount of PAHs in lamp soot is much lower than in pine wood soot. In addition to this, the relative concentration of the main polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons including anthracene, fluoranthene, pyrene, triphenylene and its isomer, benzo[k]fluoranthene and its isomers are different in the two types of soot. The relative content of benzo[k]fluoranthene is higher in pine soot than in lamp soot, which could be used to as a criterion to differentiate the two types of soot. Py-GC-MS technique is a very effective method to identify the main components of Chinese ink sticks, including the PAHs of soot, binding media and the additives of camphor and borneol in one analysis.     

Boojum and stripe textures in long-range orientationally ordered monolayers on solid substrates

Long-range organization of molecular tilt azimuth is a striking feature in monolayers at the air-water interface. We show that the boojum and stripe textures of pentadecanoic acid (PDA) with the continuous variations of molecular tilt azimuth formed at the air-water interface at temperatures lower than room temperature can be preserved after being transferred to glass substrates at low dipping speeds. The long-range tilt order in the transferred boojums and stripes is resolved by frictional force microscopy at room temperature, suggesting that the tilt order is "frozen" through the interaction of PDA molecules with the glass surface. The transferred stripe structure can be used as a unique alignment layer to induce a continuously azimuthal orientation of nematic liquid crystals.     

新型2-胺基-1,3,4-噻二唑类化合物的合成及其抗肿瘤活性的研究

设计合成了一系列新型的N1-(5-取代基-1,3,4-噻二唑-2-基)-N3-取代苯基-脲类化合物,并测定了它们的抗肿瘤活性.标题化合物对肿瘤转移的生物活性实验是以荷Lewis肺癌小鼠为模型的.生物活性表明部分标题化合物对肿瘤的转移和肿瘤生长具有较好的抑制作用.其结构经元素分析、红外光谱及1H NMR确证.     

Virgatolides A-C, benzannulated spiroketals from the plant endophytic fungus Pestalotiopsis virgatula

Virgatolides A-C (1-3), unique metabolites with a 3',4',5',6'-tetrahydrospiro[chroman-2,2'-pyran] core, were isolated from cultures of the plant endophytic fungus Pestalotiopsis virgatula. Compounds 1-3 possess two previously undescribed skeletons originating from a benzannulated 6,6-spiroketal and one (2 and 3) and two (1) γ-lactone units, respectively. The structure of 1 was secured by X-ray crystallography.     

Synthesis of raspberry-like monodisperse magnetic hollow hybrid nanospheres by coating polystyrene template with Fe(3)O(4)@SiO(2) particles

A new inorganic/organic hybrid material containing silsesquioxane was prepared by the reaction of caged octa (aminopropyl silsesquioxane) (POSS-NH(2)) with n-butyl glycidyl ether (nBGE) and 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDGE). The copolymers of POSS, nBGE, and BDGE could be obtained with varied feed ratio of POSS-NH(2), nBGE, and BDGE in the preparation. The hybrid material was added into an epoxy resin (E51) for enhancing the toughening and thermal properties of the epoxy resin. The results showed that the toughening and the thermal properties of the cured epoxy resin were greatly improved by the addition of the hybrid. The enhancement was ascribed to nano-scale effect of the POSS structure and the formation of anchor structure in the cured network. The investigation of kinetics for the curing process of the hybrid-modified epoxy resin revealed that two kinds of curing reactions occurred in different temperature ranges. They were attributed to the reactions between amino groups of the curing agent with epoxy groups of E51 and with residue epoxy groups in the hybrid. The reacting activation energies were calculated based on Kissinger's and Flynn-Wall-Ozawa's methods, respectively.     

A monotone finite volume method for time fractional Fokker-Planck equations

We develop a monotone finite volume method for the time fractional Fokker-Planck equations and theoretically prove its unconditional stability. We show that the convergence rate of this method is of order 1 in the space and if the space grid becomes suffciently fine, the convergence rate can be improved to order 2. Numerical results are given to support our theoretical findings. One characteristic of our method is that it has monotone property such that it keeps the nonnegativity of some physical variables such as density, concentration, etc.

     

Composition Cesàro Operator on the Normal Weight Zygmund Space in High Dimensions

Let n>1 and B be the unit ball in n dimensions complex space Cⁿ.Suppose thatφis a holomorphic self-map of B andψ∈H(B)withψ(0)=0.A kind of integral operator,composition Cesàro operator,is defined by T_φψ(f)(z)=∫¹0f[φ(tz)]Rψ(tz)dt/t,f∈(B)z∈B.In this paper,the authors characterize the conditions that the composition Cesàro operator T_φ,ψis bounded or compact on the normal weight Zygmund space Z_μ(B).At the same time,the sufficient and necessary conditions for all cases are given.
